Why go on a CSC ski trip?
There are many reasons for going on a ski trip with us. Some of the best reasons are:
- Many of our members joined because they wanted to go on a ski trip but had no one to ski with.
No matter what kind of skier you are, from a never ever skier to the most expert, there is
someone in the club to ski with; someone who skis at your level. Skiing is so much more
enjoyable when you have friends to ski with and with CSC you never have to ski alone.
- It’s a great way to meet and connect with other CSCers. Our trips are about the skiing and the
camaraderie.
- Our trips provide value and if you are busy, they are easy. The trips are planned with care, your trip leader will guide you through everything you need to do, you pack and show up.
What is a typical CSC ski trip like?
- Trip Sign Up: Trips are announced in late spring and sign up typically begins at the first general
meeting in August. Some trips fill up on the initial sign up night. If a trip fills up on the first sign
up night, a lottery will be held.
- Pre-Trip: Your trip leader will send regular email updates. Sometime before your trip, you’ll
attend a pre-trip party with the other trip participants. At the party, you will meet the other trip
participants, socialize and verify your roommate and condo mates. The Trip Leader will go over
all trip details and answer any questions you might have. If you are looking for skiers at your
level, this is the time to find them.
- Travel: Your Trip Leader will provide you with travel details. You just need to show up on time.
- At the Destination: Upon arrival, typically you will go to a Welcome Party where you’ll meet with
a resort representative, check in, and get lift tickets. Rentals and ski school lessons are typically
arranged on arrival day.
- Ski Days: Hit the slopes with your ski buddies, meet for lunch and/or Apres Ski festivities, relax in
the hot tub and go out for dinner. CSC typically has a group Wine & Cheese party and Dinner
sometime during the trip.
- Post-Trip: It’s time to get together
Costs vary, depending upon location. Our trips have been averaging $1500 - $1900. This includes airfare,
lift tickets, ground transportation, the pre and post parties and the group party and dinner at the resort.
Usually eight days, seven nights.
Do you stay at hotels or condos?
Both, depending upon the trip.
How many people go on a trip?
It varies, but usually 25 to 40 people.
What discounts do you offer?
CSC typically receives discounts on lift tickets, rentals, ski school, and lodging.
Do you offer trip insurance?
No, but we highly-recommend everyone buy trip insurance on their own. There are a number of
companies who offer travel protection; often your home insurance company will do so. Since you are
booking in advance, it’s smart to buy coverage.
Do I need to be a good skier to join CSC?
NO! You don’t even need to be a skier. We offer many non-ski events and activities.
How well do your members ski?
We have skiers at all levels. Don’t worry, you will find someone to ski with. And don’t forget that
discounted lessons are often available on our trips. What a great way to improve your skills!
How can I learn more about the trips?
Attend CSC meetings and chat with the trip leaders. They will have trip information. If you are unable to
attend our meetings, contact the trip leader directly.
When and where are your club meetings?
We get together socially every other Wednesday for what we term a “general meeting”. Meeting time is
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm but you can arrive at any time. During meetings, members can sign up for trips and
activities, talk to the trip leaders, and socialize with friends. We have club announcements at about 8:30
pm. Sometimes we have “theme” meetings like an Oktoberfest or Halloween party.
See the Event Calendar for upcoming meeting dates. Non-member guests are always welcome! When and where are Happy Hours?
There are TGIF gatherings on Friday evenings on weeks opposite our general meeting weeks. Sometimes
we throw in an extra Happy Hour to celebrate a special event like St. Patrick's Day or Cinco de Mayo.
TGIF’s take place throughout the area, see the Event Calendar for upcoming TGIF dates. Non-member
guests are always welcome! What does it cost to join?

We get together all year round to do a wide variety of things. Our activities are so varied that there’s
something for everyone. Here’s a short list: dance lessons at our meetings, Reds games, Bengals games,
hockey games, canoeing, bowling, hiking, bicycling, theater, summer picnics, wine tastings and dances.
Go to the Event Calendar for more details.
How are your trips selected?
A committee selects snow ski trips after gathering information from members at large on where they
would like to go and what deals we might be able to put together.
We generally return to our favorite lakes for water ski trips.
Travel trips are determined by member interests.
CSC Friends is the overall name given to events and activities that are not sponsored by CSC. They
happen because a CSCer has an interest and invites everyone to come along.
Our club is 100% volunteer based, and we’re always looking for more help!
Contact one of our Board members to get involved. This is another great way to meet other members.
